The Cotton Patch Quilters are involved in many charitable projects......Project Safe:Project Safe is a shelter in Athens, GA where women in abusive situations can go and take their children to escape from the abuse. The guild donates quilts which are given to each child to provide comfort in a situation that can be terrifying. This project was begun in 1990 and to date we have proudly provided over 1,000 quilts. We have also provided permanent quilts for the Safe House beds when needed. In the last year, the Project Safe coordinator has also given larger quilts to some families as they have left the Safe House to start their lives over in new dwellings.Quilts can be any size or shape and should appeal to children from infants and older. Project Safe staff advises that the children usually range in age from 5 to 10 years old.If you need an idea for a Safe House quilt, try one of these patterns.......
