Pretend Mariner’s Compass 40” by 40”

Each block is made with two paper sections. This block will help you on your way to a mariners compass.

This quilt is made with 4 paper pieced blocks, and two paper pieced borders.

Fabric needed (Pre wash fabric)
Red: 7/8 of a yard. (Includes border 1)
White with little black   ¾ of a yard
Black with white   ¾ of a yard (includes border 3)
Black tone on tone ¾ of a yard (Includes border 2)
Gray black:  ¼ yard

Supplies needed
Pattern: Will be sold at class

Add a Quarter inch ruler
Sewing machine in working order
Post card or one envelope
Thread (A neutral or matching color for your fabric)
Flat flower head pins
Scotch removable tape
Open toe foot or clear foot
Rotary cutter
Iron (no steam)
Paper Scissor
Cutting mat
Small ironing mat
Sewline fabric glue stick
Flat plastic paper clips
Basic sewing supplies (scissors, seam ripper, rulers, chocolate)
